I got tired of waiting

I got tired of waiting to get the new picture to adorn the top of the new deezil.us. Hence, I unleashed the new CSS and titles tonight, with more tweaks to come in the near future. It all will fit, just think about the title, the colors, the names for everything, and the whole scheme of things will come to you.
Many miles before I sleep, but I will sleep easier tonight knowing that something I have wanted to do for a while has been done.

What’s worse…

…than having one ex in the same general vicinity as you? Having two. It just so happened that I had the pleasure of having Amanda and Amber in the same room as I last night. Before I go any farther, I must stress three points: 1.) I use the term “ex” quite liberally, as I never did get to out with them, 2.) I am only about 80% sure Amber was there, 3.) Amber and I never spoke. I walk in the door, and the first thing I see is Amanda, and she shoots me this look. This “you are gonna die” look. A look I don’t appreciate. But for the mean time, I let it slide. I go into the other room out at Cherokee Hills, and one of the first things I see (refer to point #3) is Amber. I’m like “Oh great, two of the women that hate me the most in life are in here, at least one of them is drunk, and there’s a bar that both of them can buy at. Shit.” But still I ignored it and went on with my night, hanging out with the brothers, getting out there and dancing a little bit with teh (hopefull) girl, and having a good time. I went to the restroom at some point, and when I did, Amanda was sitting at a table 5 feet from me. She gave me another look, whispered another something to Josh, and did her thing. Well, after 10 minutes of thinking passed, I decided to confront her. I handled it well. I go up to her, ask her why I got that look, and got the finger. I walk away, flipping the same sign, and yelling appropriate 2 word, 7 letter phrases. She somehow makes it in front of me and tells me something about pressing charges or something. Well, I just walk on and go back to enjoying the night with the brothers. The rest of the night goes rather well, and I had a good time out there. I also got to be the DD, so I got to drive a foreign car, with semi-foreign people in it to take them to and deliver them from drunkenness. Great night, if I do say so myself.

Welcome into Alpha Sigma Phi!

I know that’s how I finished up the last entry, but the echoes of that chorus still ring in my head. Mostly, because it was the last thing I heard last night before we were dismissed from recieving our pledgeships. I love my new brothers. They are wonderful people. I am glad to start on my journey to become one of them. It took alot of energy out of me last night, I was scared, nervous, and at points wanted to pass out, but I made it through it okay. Now, 8 weeks away from the end of this journey, to be a full-fleged member and brother of Alpha Sigma Phi.
“So here’s to brother Daniel, brother Daniel, brother Daniel, oh here’s to brother Daniel, who’s with us tonight. He’s happy, he’s jolly, he’s fucked up by golly, so here’s to brother Daniel who’s with us tonight.” — The Official Alpha Sigma Phi Drinking song.

Alpha Sigma Phi

I just recieved my bid. It all went down like I thought. Jimmy came and got me, they gathered around me outside Regents, they sang to us, and then pig-piled on top of us. It was awesome. There aren’t many words coming to mind right now, I am just so excited.
“Welcome into Alpha Sigma Phi”

A full fleged convert.

Tonight, I made the switch. I said to hell with Outlook and decided to try out the next best thing. And that is the goodness called Thunderbird. Thunderbird is the next generation e-mail client from the team at the Mozilla Foundation, which is also bringing you the last browser you will ever need, FireFox. The switch became a litte arduous, as I had to quickly readjust to the way things looked and acted, and had to re-setup 2/3 of my accounts because the Outlook transfer wizard doo-hickey didn’t bring them in. But I think I am now fully in business. I don’t think that I will be going back to Outlook any time soon from what I am seeing already. Sure, Outlook was slick looking and all that, but that is nothing anymore, people want functionality. Thunderbird is simple, and it runs quickly. In other news, saw a bunch of peoples at the gathering at the bowling lanes for the ASP’s. It just really keeps getting better and better folks. I love it. Well, sleep must be had. Night.

Hotdogger

Tonight was the “hotdogger”, the informal introduction to all things Greek. The goal of tonight was to get around, talk to a few people, pick up some info, and generally learn what each fraternity here on campus was going to do for us, with us, and to us. I talked to lots of great guys tonight, from several different fraternities, but still, the one that impressed me the most, the one that gave me the attention and the face time I thought I deserved, that “show me the money” type attitude, were my original thoughts and original choice, the Alpha Sigma Phi’s. When I got there, I met the one brother I know, and with that, started on a chain of over 40 guys, one introducing me to the next, and talking to me, asking the same few questions that the guy before him had asked, and that the guy he introduced me to in a minute was sure to ask as well. I got the same odd stare when asked my hometown, as if no one had heard of Gravel Switch, KY. ;) Then I explained the proximity to Danville, and then to Lexington if necessary, and that usually got them some sort of idea to where I was coming from. Really, those guys were amazing, and I enjoyed their company immensly. Well, I do believe it is time for a little homework…er…not. It’s time for some hardcore sleep, considering the amount I have had over the past few days (I have worked more the last 3 days than I have slept, if that tells you anything). Goodnight all you peoples, have sweet and pleasant dreams, and until the road of life allows us to cross paths again, be good to yourself, and to each other.

Figured I’d update

There’s been alot going on here lately, just not alot of time to write about it all. I guess 3:15 AM when I am waiting for a cordless drill to be delivered to me at 6 is just as good a time as any. Over the past week, I have ran myself ragged, pretty much every day, waking up early, and going to bed late. Of course, this is about the usual bedtime, with wake up being about 3-4 hours from now. Anyway. I have been working as hard as is humanly possibly with the class schedule and social life I am trying to keep up. But no worries, I am dealing with it all pretty well. I worked for 6 hours today, and have a huge blister on my hand because my boss thought I could just screw the screws into the wood without mechanical power. Bullshit. My hand is black, and I can’t hardly squeeze the fingers. Now, when Ryan provides the drill, I will be able to fly through the rest of my job. That’s up to right now. The rest of the week that is enqueue looks to be damn near impossible to handle, but like always, I will get through it all. I’ve got to work quite a bit, classes as usual (and I think my first quizzes and essays), plus I will be rushing Alpha Sigma Phi, Delta Tau chapter here at Murray State University. I hope to join this fine group of gentlemen, as I think they will benefit me, and I will benefit them. Now, I believe it’s time to get to some homework, and then off to work. Goodnight all you peoples.

woo.

I’ve just completed the first bender of my life. I have spent the past two days drinking myself into drunkenness. First off, I would like to say, thanks to Amber for hosting the weekend of debauchery. I had a good time hanging out with you, playing cards, and generally just helping out. Next, I would like to explain the stupid hunover deezil thing that I did. I left my soap and shampoo in the bathroom at Irvan Cobb, the floating cabin, to be exact. So it’s there, thank goodness I had an extra couple of bars of soap and a bottle of shampoo here to do clean myself up with when I got in. The fallen soldier report goes as follows. 1 pint Maker’s Mark, has 1 shot left in it. The quarter bottle of Jagermeister left from Mary-K drinking it, gone. A Twisted Green Apple Smirnoff, decimated. Also consumed were a couple of Dreamsicles, consisting of Vanilla vodka, and Orange soda. All in all, lots were drank, not much was eaten, except for some awesome cheese dip, and a couple of burgers, and a good time was had by all. Nice meeting Nicole, Bobby, Gene, John, Rachel, the dude that told me about the fish floating in the water, the guys bugging us about not playing any of “their music”, and anyone else who stopped by. In other news, my roommate and I are getting along fine, we talk alot more than me and my previous one did. Aaron is actually in …, IN with his friend down the hall, Ty. They decided to head home yesterday, and will be back sometime today. Sparky, good to hear that you made it home okay, and judging that you were in the nether regions of the offline contacts, you logged on somewhere, and that was probably at home. To all those others that decided to IM me at some point, hi. To Monica, Aaron, Stephanie, Allison, Amanda, Ryan, Lizzie, and Trista, sorry for not getting back to you in a punctual manner, I was not in a good way. But those of you on Yahoo, have / had an offline from me, maybe. Well, it’s time for me to mosey on out of here, and go get some eats. Hopefully, Winslow has something decent on the menu.
Why am I kidding myself?

Helping out.

I won. Don’t dispute that fact. Even though my name may not be listed as the winner of the event, there may never be a true winner listed, but I know I still won, and that is good enough for me. I won, damnit, and I am proud of what I accomplished. I helped someone out, and for that, I hope that person is grateful.
Doing good for others makes me feel good inside, such a welcome change from a few hours ago.
