I’m a creature of habit. Even in the technological world. When something new comes along, I’ll play with it, but won’t adopt it until I feel fully comfortable. And that may take quite a while. Recently, I found an exception.
I dived into aVast with cold feet, hoping the water was warm. I had heard reccomendations from my tech buddies about this free alternative to AVG, and decided it was worth a look-see. So, I uninstalled AVG, rebooted, installed aVast, rebooted again, and then I immediately fell in love. The first thing that I noticed was that it was easier on processing and memory resources than AVG was, and that’s always something I like. The second thing came about 10 seconds after everything was up and loaded. I didn’t get a message asking me when I wanted to update, I got a message that told me the database has been updated. And a couple hours later I got it again. This program polls the server almost constantly, seeing if there is an update, and grabbing it for you if there is. No more of waiting for one time each day that the database gets updated. The third reason to love it was the interface. AVG’s could be a little hard to use for the new folk, but aVast’s is nice, clean, and easy to get around.
If I’ve told you to use AVG before, scrap that information, and now head over to aVast. Definitely something you will like.
P.S. On this note, I have to rewrite my tech specs article. That should be forthcoming in another few hours.
