Home, home on the range.

I really think that having the deezilBlog back open for business is going to make things alot better on my mental state. This is where I empty my mind.

As was stock before, I’m not too happy with my love life, even though that is improving. I’m just coming to point where I don’t care. And classes suck. I can’t stand a few of the professors I have.

Even though this blog is about changes, many things still do stay the same. It’s just a matter of how I view them all.

And, the new shit.

Welcome to the new method of madness.  It’s lovely, ain’t it?  It’ll get more polished as we go along, and it’s not MovableType any more, mainly because of a big misunderstanding on my new hosting plan from 1and1.  It’s enough that I’m slightly perturbed, but not enough that I can’t figure out what is going on, and can’t get things up and running somewhat similarly very very soon.  The bigger test is the fraternity website.  But we’ll get on that ASAP.  Just find a good template, and then make it do what I want as easily as I can.

And, for the former stuff.

All the old stuff will return sometime soon.  Just have to get it all back in here.  And I’ve got to hack around some things to get it all done.  Like I said, just wait.

Performancing…again.

Yeah, so last time I tried to post this entry, things went to full on shit. Fucking old hosting company. Again, John, I love you. That other company was an ass. But now I’m back and going again.

Anyway, the old entry.

This is definitely interesting folks. I just installed a new extension inside of Firefox, and it’s allowing me to create new entries for the blog here without having the MovableType web page open and having to make the new things inside of it’s bland green and great interface. Plus, I don’t have to switch back and forth between tabs when I am actually doing an article that requires research (and yes, I’m working on one such article right now). It’s just a fun time. Ooooooh! Just saw that I can also add del.icio.us support to this, and it’s a pretty rich interface compared to the del.icio.us extension. This could just replace a few bookmarks and a couple of extensions as well. Good stuff folks.

Edit: well shit, let’s give you folks a link. And yes bofe, it supports WordPress as well. Try it. Here you go.

Edit 2: And don’t click through the history of your old entries without saving the first one in a note. You”ll lose what you were working on.

If I blog and it doesn’t publish to the front page, does anyone read it?

Basically, the hosting company that I had to go under once GlobalLAN’s one and only server took a dive is a big fuckstain.
And that’s being nice.
It’s been nothing but a huge clustermess trying to get everything working since the initial changeover. And about a month ago, it all finally came back together. Well, kinda.
Then last week happened. They told us about a server upgrade they were going to push, and that all the data would move over to the new server.
That was a stretching of the truth.
All the data moved over. But some of the data on the day of the move. More data the day after. Seems as some genius forgot to include the database tables in the data that they moved.
Then, the site goes dark.
And then back to a brownout.
And back dark.
It was *insert personally overused cliche here* going up and down more than a $10 hookeron half price BJ day, and it wasn’t using my latest entry that I had posted right before the downtime.
So, I go to rebuild the site and………..
fuck.
All the data is still here. I would have blown shit up had it have gone destroyed. Like the last live entry said, it’s been two good years, and I’m working on at least two more. But, all the othe settings that I had to work to get change had been reverted. With no good way to
But that’s not all I’m working on. I’m not thinking about another design change. I’m rather happy with what I have. I just want to slick it up. Alot. Think menus. Automated style switching for the future when I keep designing. Dynamic templates. MovableType 3.2. More dev stuff. More good writing. Actual articles to supplement the nonsense.
It’s weird having to be inside my mind. Trust me when I say that if you want to be there, you are much more brave than I. Because I just want to get the hell out of Dodge.

I just found another excuse as to why I have already been drinking today.

It’s the second anniversary of the site.
Still blogging since March 4, 2004.
God, it’s been forever. Here’s to at least another two good years.

She comin down from the ceilin’ (to the floor)

That song would be just as good without Mike Jones. Thanks.
What can I say. It’s been an interesting time in my world. Spring Cleaning is coming up, get ready for that all you people who have made my world dreary in the past year. And no, Nori-pants, this is not about you.
Other things have been going on as well. I’m getting back to my roots. I know there’s not much work to be done in this world that doesn’t involve a computer (hell, look at what I am doing now), but that doesn’t mean that I can’t limit my activity on the computer and the internet. And that’s what I’m doing. The first thing I decided to do was to turn off the messengers, for a period of time which I haven’t decided yet. I have people’s phone numbers. I’ll call them. I want to progress backwards, and am doing so at a tremendous rate. I also have moved away from using the e-mail as much. I can just go see them. That makes for a more convincing reply anyway. There’s just so much that I am changing in this world, and the world is changing around me at the same time.
As always, women are interesting right now. I have women that want me, and I want other women, not necessarily the ones that want me. It’s all odd and confusing to get into it. I want what I can’t have, and I don’t really want what I can have. It’s not that I really want what I can have though, I’d have to think about changing my already-low standards. And I don’t think I want to do that. Oh, and my mutually physically beneficial friend loves her new boyfriend. And I am extremely happy for her. But I still want to bone her brains out again. She’s good at what she does.

Sing for the moment

It’s not just music that I adore, it’s made by folks I know, including one fraternity brother, a guy who lives where I used to, and some other assorted and awesome people. What once was Cellar Door is now Tearing Down Vegas. The music is not for everyone, but you can find something in their repetoire that will appeal to you. As their vocal/guitar player, brother, and friend Adam Bittel says: “GET THERE!” I implore you to do the same. My Picks: “Extra, Extra”, and “Poker Face From Hell” It’s just good stuff. I’ll link their merch whenever I find out where they’re selling it now.
