If I blog and it doesn’t publish to the front page, does anyone read it?
Basically, the hosting company that I had to go under once GlobalLAN’s one and only server took a dive is a big fuckstain.
And that’s being nice.
It’s been nothing but a huge clustermess trying to get everything working since the initial changeover. And about a month ago, it all finally came back together. Well, kinda.
Then last week happened. They told us about a server upgrade they were going to push, and that all the data would move over to the new server.
That was a stretching of the truth.
All the data moved over. But some of the data on the day of the move. More data the day after. Seems as some genius forgot to include the database tables in the data that they moved.
Then, the site goes dark.
And then back to a brownout.
And back dark.
It was *insert personally overused cliche here* going up and down more than a $10 hookeron half price BJ day, and it wasn’t using my latest entry that I had posted right before the downtime.
So, I go to rebuild the site and………..
fuck.
All the data is still here. I would have blown shit up had it have gone destroyed. Like the last live entry said, it’s been two good years, and I’m working on at least two more. But, all the othe settings that I had to work to get change had been reverted. With no good way to
But that’s not all I’m working on. I’m not thinking about another design change. I’m rather happy with what I have. I just want to slick it up. Alot. Think menus. Automated style switching for the future when I keep designing. Dynamic templates. MovableType 3.2. More dev stuff. More good writing. Actual articles to supplement the nonsense.
It’s weird having to be inside my mind. Trust me when I say that if you want to be there, you are much more brave than I. Because I just want to get the hell out of Dodge.
