High-tech in low places

I can use my cell phone from the top of the hill behind my house.

Let me reiterate that for those that didn’t hear what I just said.

I can use my cell phone.  Behind my house.  A cell phone works in Gravel Switch.

The world is coming to an end.  Now, to get real (read: not dial-up) internet here and the end shall be near.

I’ll be in Louisville for the next couple of days, loves.  Call me, text, e-mail, or hold questions until Sunday.

Rollercoaster baby…

For all those that I have bitched, moaned, complained, and made sit though the last week of my life which I described as “utter hell”, I have some things to say to you.

Thanks. Things have now gotten better.

And then again gotten worse.

It’s the story of my life.

The week has been nothing short of utter tumult. On Monday, things were bad. Like I was needing a beer at 2PM bad. Like I passed out in night class bad. I had two situations arise at work simultaneously. One was the fact that my replacement arrived. And two was the fact that the psycho I worked for in another part of the building before called to yell at me for something she had no right to. So by 9AM, I was doing fan-fucking-tastic. And I told everyone about it. While I’m still not happy about the way things are being handled, and about the silence from my boss, I’m managing. And all we had to do is get through life.

On Tuesday, I snapped. :-D

In what I can only describe at my one and only time I have yelled at my students, I took two girls to the cleaners that night. They were being snippy, rude, and unwilling to help themselves. Being the last two people in class that night, I took a seat between them, and we worked out the problems they were having. With my constant missive to just read the book and you will be able to figure out everything. Which, had Miss Lefty done so, she wouldn’t have had me constantly raise my voice. Miss Righty on the other hand (oh fuck me, nary a pun has been written any better) was working slower but needing little encouragements. The problem was that it was a constant pull and push. Pushing the one on the left to read and think, and having the one on the right pulling me just to get those little things out of the way. I called a time-out, made them catch up to each other, and then we continued on our merry way. After that, I headed to Vitello’s. And beyond that, got a presentation together that was due the next day with one person short on our group. She finally pitched in and did things during the presentation, but with her not coming to class for weeks prior, we thought she dropped the class and left the idea for dead. Oops.

And then we move to Wednesday. The mixed bag day. The day that made the week all better. I had been still am stressed about employment after I graduate from this fine institution that I currently attend to. And on Wednesday, I went to the career fair being held to get my name out there. Well, my first stop was a company that I knew nothing about. But I definitely scored something with them, because I should be getting a call at the beginning of this week in order to set up an interview time to go see them in Huntsville, AL. Exciting times. After that, went and gave the presentation that had been prepared. Number Three shows up in all her glory and half-asses it. Oh well, at least it’s better than the alternative we had planned.

Thursday. BORING. Until I got a call to make sure I was at the fraternity house at 8:45. For all those that know me well, you know that I’ve wanted a little bro for the longest time now. And I now finally have one. His name’s Matt, he’s a TSM major, and he’s just awesome. We’re going to get our shirts made sometime this week. And if prices have went up that much, I’m getting a special set made for Kevin and I, and maybe a set for Shams and I too.

Friday, much the same as Thursday. Spent the morning fixing random shit and taking apart computers. Noon time helping the kiddies, then on home to laze around. Ended up going out drinking that night and went to Spyders, just to get rejected. Oh well.

Yesterday, after recovering from the hangover, I didn’t do much else. Went to a friends last night just to hang out, and as I was coming back, my car exploded. Dumped water out all on the Five Points intersection. That was fun. Spent the rest of my night lamenting the car and lamenting the week.

Today, nothing. And now off to the fraternity meeting. Where I have to say something harsh.

Carpe diem, motherfuckers.

To get up to in the morning.

Wake up call.
