SPAM gets weird.
Yes, I know it’s spam. But still, to get something like this to your e-mail inbox, it’s quite freaky.
The Dark Mark.
Tonight, I’m pissed. Scared. Sad. Angry. I don’t know what to feel or how to feel about it.
I got accused of discrimination by a student against him.
It’s just a shock that I would truly be accused of such a heinous thing.
This student is trying to use the fact that he is of a different race to bully us into changing his grade. That’s the motive behind the accusation. This student uses the human resources in class to try and swing his grade by repeatedly asking us questions while he is taking his tests, trying to mine answers out of us by hitting us with small questions one after another. We usually try to answer his questions one, and then head in the other direction, because the longer we are with him, the longer other students have their hands in the air during a timed test, and the more he tends to get out of us. And once one of us has moved on, he usually grabs the attention of another assistant and keeps going. While we answer every question he has, we struggle to keep up with him and 33 other students at the same time. It’s somewhat relentless and tonight it came to a head. As he was leaving class, he came back to me and asked about two questions from the test. He broke the rules there, because he is supposed to raise his hand as he is attempting the question to have us look at it, because if we can’t see it, then we can’t change the grade he receives. Well, when I tell him that I can’t do anything about it now, he starts going off about how he tried to get us over there, and how we were just uncooperative and unhelpful, and how we were discriminating against him because of his ethnicity and his language barrier. And this is from the student that never raises his hand in normal lecture to ask one question, but has his hand constantly up during a test, trying to dig out answers.
The tirade continued after that, but after being accused of discrimination against him, the other lab assistant distracted him while I fetched the professor, and both myself and the other LA bowed out of the convo after that. Not saying we don’t know what happened, but officially we didn’t hear anything else. And the official line sticks.
I’m not the one that cares about being tarnished at this point. It’s the other two who I love and care about. I don’t want to see such a dark mark hit either of their souls. They love and care about the students too much to be accused of anything so ghastly.
I’ll keep you all abreast.
If you’re the right one, I hope I’m never wrong.
Four weeks. FOUR weeks. Four WEEKS. FOUR WEEKS.
It’s getting close folks. A schedule of what is to come.

A job-haver is me.
As of Thursday, you will be reading the blog of the newest employee at United Systems. And I cannot be more excited. But I need to make sure that I’ve got all my ducks in a row and have asked all the questions I need to. Post questions that I need to ask, and I’ll find out what those answers will be.
